Abstract
Capillarity phenomena at the nanometer scale are investigated by real-time experiments. The capillary absorption of a molten Ag droplet can occur only when the ratio of the droplet's size D i to the inner diameter D t of a multiwalled carbon nanotube (CNT) goes below a critical value, and this value decreases as the CNT's inner diameter reduces.
