Abstract
The effect of the dipole-dipole interaction on the magnetism of a two-dimensional lattice of spins coupled by isotropic short-range exchange interactions is investigated. In the noninteracting spin-wave approximation it is shown that for positive J the system becomes ferromagnetic. © 1986 The American Physical Society.
