Abstract
An edge dislocation near the coherent second phase medium is investigated. The stress field arising from the coherent interface simulated by an infinite array of discrete dislocations is derived. The force an edge dislocation induced by the coherent interface and dislocation image is obtained. Based on the force formulas, the glide and climb components of an edge dislocation related to the orientation of Burgers vector and elastic constants are discussed in details.
