The influence of Fe-catalyst morphology on the microstructure and electron field emission of carbon nanotubes were systematically studied. Prebaking and H 2 -plasma treatment processes imposed marked effect on the morphology of Fe clusters. Results indicate that spin coating of Fe(OR) 3 is a simple and inexpensive method for preparing catalyst of good quality.
