Abstract
Effects of orientation transition on exchange anisotropy of Co/NiMn films was analyzed using Cu/Au/Cu underlayers on Si substrates. NiMn films were deposited at 120°C, while others were deposited at room temperature without applying external magnetic field. The x-ray Ø scans showed four-fold symmetry of Co and NiMn films, which implied that Co and NIMn were (001) epitaxial films with the cube-to-cube association between two layers. The results show that the exchange field of the Co/NiMn grains intensifies with increasing the amount of (111) NiMn grains.
