Abstract

NH 3 ·H 2 O treated carbon nanotubes form an electric double layer in the presence of an electric field and tube wetting is therefore improved. Proton concentration on tube surfaces can be further modulated by a Lorentz force and is verified by multi-transition of an hydrophobic into an hydrophilic phase. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2009.
