Atomic and Molecular Physics and Optics
Electron-impact ionization cross sections of Be-like ions were studied in the two-potential distorted-wave (TPDW) approximation. Systematic behaviors along the Be isoelectronic sequence were demonstrated. Exchange effects were included by antisymmetrizing the transition amplitudes in the TPDW approximation. It is observed that expansion coefficients are almost constant for nonrelativistic cross sections.
