Abstract

We report the gold-catalyzed oxidative cleavage of aryl-substituted alkynyl ethers using molecular oxygen under ambient conditions; the transformation involves a remarkable cleavage of C-H, C-C and CC bonds simultaneously. © 2009 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
