Abstract

The decay of mass-separated Ag124 to Cd124 was studied by singles and coincidence measurements. A half-life for Ag124 of 0.17 ± 0.03 s was measured. The one ray from Ag124 decay observed at 613 keV is postulated to depopulate the 21+ state in Cd124. The resulting extension of the systematics of even-even Cd isotopes is discussed.
