Abstract
A series of fluxional intramolecular η 2 -bound arene complexes, (C 7 H 8 Ar)Pdl(PPh 3 ), 1a-1d, and 2 may be isolated from the catalytic reactions of norbornadiene (or norbornene) with aryl iodides in the presence of Zn and PdCl 2 (PPh 3 ) 2 (eqn. 1) and their structures have been determined by X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy.
