Abstract
He + and H + ion beams and a two-dimensional position-sensitive channelplate detector were used to investigate the (111) surface of Si single crystals. Both sharp and unsharp collimated beams produced two distinct patterns from the same (111) surface. In addition to the shadowing pattern, an interference pattern was discovered. © 1993.
