摘要
We report terahertz (THz) radiation from a 250-μm-diameter metal wire irradiated by a 160-fs infrared laser pulse. The detected radiation field is comparable to that from a 1-mm thick 〈110〉 ZnTe THz emitter under the same incident laser intensity of 280 GW/cm 2 . Photoemission is considered as the dominant mechanism to generate the transient radiation current in the wire. © 2013 AIP Publishing LLC.
