Abstract
The trityl and monomethoxytrityl groups are efficiently (80-98% yields) removed from protected nucleosides or nucleotides by use of 0.10 equivalent of Ce(NH 4 ) 2 (NO 3 ) 6 in wet acetonitrile and DMF under neutral conditions.
