Concentration depth profiling of functional groups using FT-IR/ATR spectroscopy was applied to nondestructive determination of saponification degree in diacetyl cellulose films. Saponification degree was also determined destructively by neutralization titration and micro FT-IR. The results obtained showed good agreement.
