Abstract
The security of a variation of Cramer-Shoup's public key scheme was analyzed. Results indicated that the public key cryptosystem proposed by Cramer and Shoup was insecure against the adaptive chosen ciphertext attack. The public key scheme failed to satisfy the non-malleability property under the chosen plaintext attack.
