Abstract
Molecular weight distribution has been used to study the formation mechanism of polyarylates by solution polycondensation or by emulsion polycondensation. GPC (gel permeation chromatography) was employed successfully for studying the molecular weight distribution of polyarylates and it has been shown that the universal calibration dependence was suitable for polyarylates. In this paper, the molecular weight distributions of polyarylate synthesized with different reactant mole ratios were investigated with GPC.
