Abstract
The phase transformation in self-assembly of the gold/poly(4-vinyl)-b- polyη-caprolactone) hybrid system was examined. Bulk samples of block copolymers were prepared by the solution-casting method using dichloromethane (CH 2 Cl 2 ) solution at room temperature. Bright field transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images were obtained using the mass-thickness contrast with a JEOL TEM-1200x transmission electron microscope. The results show that the introduction of gold precursors is preferentially cooperated with the P4VP microdomains and thus reduces the transformation of cylinder to lamellae.
