Abstract

Electrochemical testing Pinhole enlargement Porosity Potentiodynamic Stainless steel Titanium nitride
Pinhole enlargement caused by substrate metal corrosion is a problem during electrochemical porosity measurement that leads to the overestimation of coating porosity. By means of calculation and experiment, this study shows that decreasing the corrosivity of the test process can avoid the problem of pinhole enlargement during electrochemical porosity testing and therefore achieve accurate porosity measurement.
