Abstract

biosynthesis lithium-ion battery mesoporous materials sol-gel processes titanium dioxide
Vitality of yeast cells maintained in an aqueous sol-gel solution containing titanium tetraisopropoxide and glucose. The living cells and their metabolites acted as the porogens for a channel-like TiO 2 precursor. Further processing of the precursor offered a channel-like meso/macroporous TiO 2 , a potential anode material for Li-ion battery. © 2013 American Chemical Society.
