Abstract

The amorphous powders of Ti 50 Fe 50 were prepared by mechanical alloying. The powders were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction and high resolution transmission electron microscopy. Activation treatment was required for the amorphous powder to absorb hydrogen at room temperature. The hydrogen absorption capacity of the material was smaller than that of crystalline TiFe alloy. © 1991.
