Abstract

Poly(diphenylamine-4,4′-diyl) receives electrochemical oxidation with E pa of about 0.6 V vs Ag/AgCl with a high doping level (number of positive charges stored per the repeating unit of the polymer) of about 2 in aqueous H 2 SO 4 solutions. The oxidized polymer exhibits an electrical conductivity of 0.2 Scm -1 at room temperature and Arrhenius-type plots of the electrical conductivity give an activation energy of about 0.1 eV. The oxidized polymer film gives a positive Seebeck coefficient of about 50 μV·K -1 .
