Abstract
We study the bifurcation of solutions of the combustion problem with general Arrhenius reaction-rate laws (Figure Presented) For this two point boundary value problem, we give a bifurcation analysis in the physically important ranges 0 < m < 1 and m < 0. It is proved that the bifurcation curve is S-shaped in certain parameter ranges, and a lower bound is given for the Frank-Kamenetskii transition value. © 1998 The Royal Society.
