Abstract
In this study, stopping forces of 1.1-4.5 MeV 3 He ions and 1.2-4.8 MeV 6 Li ions impinging in foils of polycarbonate, polyethylene terephthalate, and polypropylene are measured by means of a transmission technique using a half-covered detector. The results appear to be in agreement with those obtained from the semi-empirical calculations and experiments by others. The validity of Bragg's additivity rule is discussed for these ions in the polymers. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
