Abstract

We derive an identity that relates the fermion electric dipole moment from weak CP-violation effects to the strong CP parameter In the absence of Peccei-Quinn-type symmetries, we find that requiring naturally small generally implies that, for a large class of models, the dominant contribution to the neutron electric dipole moment dn comes from strong CP violation rather than directly from weak CP-violation effects. © 1989 The American Physical Society.
