摘要
A three-dimensional theoretical treatment was established for the photothermal deflection signal from a two-layered single microparticulate sample. The proprieties of the analytical results were confirmed by comparing the theoretical values of the frequency characteristics with the experimental ones. This theory suggests that the microparticle surface curvature localizes the temperature field and enhances its gradient, resulting in unique size dependences of sensitivity for the beam deflection signal, i.e. more sensitivity for smaller microparticles. © 1991 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
