Abstract

1-Halopen-2,4-dienes CH ₂ CHCHCHCH ₂ X (X = Cl, Br) undergo facile oxidative addition with complexes of the type trans-MCl(CO)(PR ₃ ) ₂ (M = Rh, PR ₃ = PMe ₂ Ph; M = Ir, PR ₃ = PMe ₂ Ph, PPh ₃ ). The configurations of these adducts were elucidated by combining their far-IR, ¹ H and ³¹ P NMR spectra. © 1987.
