Abstract
Industrial engineering (IE) has been a key facilitator in Taiwan’s industry productivity improvement and competitive advantage. However, business environment change has empowered IE to change its roles recently. In this paper, a framework of IEs paradigm shifting is presented, which explores its functions and its job scope changes in the enterprises as well. Moreover, three case studies are given to validate the framework. After all, we concluded that IE has been successfully shifting paradigm in Taiwan’s industry from productionoriented to businessoriented, and expand its business decision influence within their enterprises.
