Abstract

The g-factor of the 7 2 + 1264.4 KeV level in 97 Zr has been measured using the time-differential perturbed angular correlation method. The resultant g-factor, g=+0.39(4) is consistent with the simple shell model prediction for a ifg 7 2 neutron, assuming g s =g s free . This is in contrastrast to the measured vg 7 2 g-factors in 115 Sn, 121 Te, 125,127 Xe where consistency is obtained with theoretical calculation by assuming g s ≈0.7 g s free and is seen as another confirmation of quasi-shell closure at 96 Zr. © 1985.
