This paper is a study on the perception of physical therapists in Taiwan toward the use of somatosensory games in rehabilitation. The objective is to investigate the influence of physical therapists' different backgrounds on their rehabilitative treatment experience and their perception toward the application results of somatosensory games in rehabilitation. Physical therapists working in medical institutions located in Taiwan and registering with the Republic of China National Federation of Associations of Physical Therapists were sampled in this study. A total of 328 copies of a questionnaire were administered to the physical therapists, and 262 valid copies were retrieved, achieving the retrieval rate of 79.87%. The chi-square test, contingency correlation, t-test and one-way analysis of variance were performed to analyze the retrieved questionnaires. © The Author(s) 2012 Reprints and permissions: sagepub.co.uk/journalsPermissions.nav.
