Abstract

The fully resolved vibration-rotational emmision spectra of HCl during photolysis of CH 2 CHCl was reported using a step-scan Fourier transform spectrometer. The emission from HX was observed with a data acquisition window suitable for spectra with satisfactory ratio of signal to noise ratio. The HX elimination channels investigated for CH 2 CHF and CH 2 CHBr were also reported. Results showed that the determined branching ratios for three-center and four center elimination were consistent with predicted rate coefficients for Rice-Ramsberger-Kassel-Marcus (RRKM) unimolecular decomposition.
