Abstract

The stereochemical outcome of the 1,4-addition of organocopper reagents to (η-C 5 H 5 )Mo(CO) 23 -1-(E)- C 3 H 4 COCH=CHR] compounds has been elucidated; utilization of this reaction for synthesis of 2,3,4,5-tetrasubstituted tetrahydrofuran is demonstrated.
