Abstract
Crafts are derived from transformations and creations that people bring to their lives and living. Tools originate from people's demand for quality improvement of life, while crafts are derived from their inner exploration of the aesthetics of life. A review of the evolution of history reveals that tools, objects, and craftsmanship have served as the best media and solutions for people to face the world and themselves in the spatiotemporal contexts of their respective presence. Previous front-end technologies (tools and techniques) have transformed and accumulated an abundance of life memories (crafts and cultures) across disparate cultural scopes along with the evolution of human civilization. At present, people's interpretations and definitions of crafts have inherited affective significance and have generated expectations for cross-domain innovation. This study investigates the cultural scope of contemporary crafts to extend the charm of fusion and integration from their characteristic of freedom. Further, the study analyzes the current state of craft cases to broaden the cross-domain territories for added value co-creation. Finally, the study focuses on potential trends for future crafts in response to the qualia demand of future life. Created based on the "person-oriented" philosophy and the principle of "learning from nature," craftworks invariably hold a "timeless, classic" value that never perishes. The study derives the following four essential viewpoints on the future development of Taiwanese crafts: (1) closely observing craft integration and liberation in the post-craft era; (2) continuing to practice cultural translation and humanity observation; (3) making good use of co-creation and collaboration in Dechnology; and (4) striving toward a future life of qualia experiences. Starting from a retrospective review of precious traditions, the study seeks to reproduce the splendor of cultural paradigms by effectively using the co-creation and interpretation of intelligent craftsmanship.
