Abstract
The emergence of intuitive knowledge in the 16th century led to a reformation of the practice of Confucianism, which was the gradual teaching approach of “The Investigation of Things and Fathoming Principle”and was challenged by the immediate teaching of intuitive knowledge. Wang Yangming’s intuitive knowledge is based on the concept of ontology, which elebroates the understanding of consciousness and the of the existence of the world. The scholars interested in intuitive knowledge mostly believe in the virtuous characteristic of it in practice. This article examines Wang handled his familial and political issues and points out that though being an exceptional intellectual, Wang’s attitudes toward family and politics were still problematic and defective . This isto say, his ways of handling Iacked the essence of intuitive knowledge. Historically when the intuitive knowledge arosed, it confronted the notion of “Being Kingly Outside”. Such collision showed that there were still some blind spots in seemingly flawless practice of intuitive knowledge. In conclusion, how intuitive knowledge, as an ontological conception, deals with the issues of “Being Kingly Outside” must come up with a new elaboration.
