Abstract
A spacious sound effect mixing method bases on boundary sound source representation method is disclosed. The method mainly converts the sound field of a closed space to an equivalent main sound resource and a virtual secondary sound source which evenly distributes on the sound field boundary. The virtual secondary sound source simulates reflection and reverberation of sound field, and a mathematic model derived by this assumption will match with the wave equation. Strength of each virtual sound field can be calculated by a least-square procedure of reversed matrix, and the calculated strength of a set of virtual sound source represents reverberation effect of a specific sound field. The geometric sizes of the sound field, and frequency associated boundary conditions, such as the sound absorption ratio, can be set during the simulating procedure.
