Abstract
An optical fiber coupler is used to combine two separate optical fibers to transmit signals, in which each optical fiber has a core with a positioning end. The optical fiber coupler includes: a base and at least an air-adjustment mechanism installed on said base trough-channel-forming unit. The trough-channel-forming unit has two individual trough-walls to define an optical fiber trough for installing the optical fiber. Each trough-wall has a deformation area adjacent to optical fiber positioning end, and the air-adjustment mechanism can introduce air to urge-push the deformation area for deforming so as to change the position of the core positioning end. By using a simple air-adjustment mechanism to precisely adjust height and left/right positions of the positioning ends of two cores, this invention can achieve effectiveness of precise fine-tuning, simple manufacturing process, simple mechanism, easy integration and low material cost.
