Abstract
The present invention provides a data storage medium of metal compound film material. When the metal compound film obtains energy to decompose the metal compound, gas is released. This characteristic is applied in the optical recording medium. Because the projection of the energy beam, the selected area of the metal compound film is heated to release gas, and the substrate is also heated and softened. The gas in the selected area forms a high voltage state, resulting in local recess and space in the substrate, thereby completing the data write-in. Because the local recess of the substrate, the light scattering is increased, thereby decreasing the light reflective rate. Because the write-in of the metal compound film material causes an irreversible deformation, it can be used as write-once optical recording material. The invention has a simple structure and a good light-resistive capability, thereby ensuring the data security and extending the lifetime of the storage medium.
