Abstract
A method for measuring acoustic impedance using a two-port system, which measures the acoustic impedance of an object. The object includes an input terminal and an output terminal remote from the input terminal, and the two-port system includes a first impedance tube and a second impedance tube. The first impedance tube comprises a first inlet for a plane wave from an acoustic source to input and a first outlet connecting with the input terminal of the object. The second impedance tube comprises a second inlet connecting with the output terminal and a second outlet for the plane wave to output. The method for the two-port system uses a two-boundary method to obtain the acoustic impedance, so that the two-port system has the advantage of a wide range of applications, easy to use, and can be used to design the cavity of headphones, absorbing ducts, sound-absorbing materials, artificial ears and etc.
