Abstract
Because the dimension of carbon nanotubes is in nanoscale, the observation methods for carbon nanotubes mainly adopt electron microscope and scanning probe microscope. However, the processes of preparing carbon nanotubes samples and the observation using microscope are complicated and sophisticated. Besides, electron microscope is presently not allowed to observe liquid specimens due to its operation in high-vacuum environment, which limits the research and applications of carbon nanotubes under wet condition. This invention is about a new technology to visualize carbon nanotubes by simple fluorescent optical microscope, even carbon nanotubes in wet condition. By this new visualization technology, the difficulties on preparing specimens and the need of sophisticated instruments can be reduced. It also exhibits great potential for the application of carbon nanotubes under wet condition.
