Abstract
A method of forming a continuous three-dimensional structure by inkjet printing process is disclosed. A pre-patterned temporary structure is formed on a substrate. A space is formed between the temporary structure and the substrate. Ink droplets are filled into the space by inkjet printing process. Ink droplets cover the space and contact the surface of the temporary structure and the substrate. A self-aligned mechanism is formed by an interaction of the gravity of ink droplet, the surface tension between the ink droplet and the temporary structure, and the surface tension between the ink droplet and the substrate. The ink droplets fulfill the space by the self-aligned mechanism. When the ink droplet is solidified, a standalone continuous three-dimensional structure is formed by removing the temporary structure. The geometry of the continuous three-dimensional structure can be defined by the temporary structure; therefore a small track width can be obtained.
