Abstract
The invention provides a booking decision method for transportation industry by sampling optimal revenues. The booking decision method is executed on a computer system for a transportation company. It accepts or rejects a booking request based on a marginal profit. Under the condition that the number of seats of a transportation equipment is limited, the transportation company should properly allocate seats to booking requests in order to maximize the revenue. The booking requests arrive randomly before the departure time and there are different service routes, seat classes and price classes. The acceptance or rejection of a booking request can bring different profits for the transportation company. In the invention, it uses sampling methods to generate random sample scenarios. Thus, the booking decision method has an excellent prediction capability to accept/reject a booking request in real time for maximizing revenue of the transportation company.
