Abstract
An apparatus for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) is provided. The apparatus uses generalized carrier assignment scheme (CAS) along with non-data-aided timing synchronization. Random OFDM signals are formed into unequal period synchronization patterns (UPSP) through the CAS scheme and a corresponding blind timing synchronization is set. With the help of majority vote refinement, the present invention obtains better timing synchronization and enhances qualities on signal transmission and reception.
