A thermoelectric module includes an electrode unit and a thermoelectric unit. The electrode unit includes two layers of circuit patterns configured to be collaboratively in electrical connection with a power source. The thermoelectric unit includes a plurality of thermoelectric elements electrically connected to the circuit patterns of the electrode unit. Each thermoelectric element includes a first grain in a cuboid shape, and a second grain in a trapezoidal column shape and having an inclined side surface facing the first grain. The first grain is formed by an N-type semiconductor material. The second grain is formed by a P-type semiconductor material doped from the inclined side surface with a doping concentration declining from the inclined side surface along its normal direction. The present invention can use the second grain to produce a Seebeck effect that is perpendicular and horizontal to a heat flow direction, thereby improving the open circuit voltage of the thermoelectric module and related thermoelectric characteristics.
