Abstract
The embodiment of the invention provides a decoder for list type continuous elimination and a decoding method thereof. In this method, at least one data bit is error-checked. A piece of data comprises the data bits and at least one check bit, the data bits serve as second check bits, and whether error check is passed or not is checked at the second check bits. Then, whether decoding of the data bits is terminated in advance is determined according to a result of error checking of the second check bits. The result of the error check is related to the comparison result of the check bit and the value obtained by the function operation of the corresponding data bit. Therefore, the opportunity of stopping decoding in advance can be improved, so that the decoding efficiency is improved.
