The invention relates to a gene expression regulation system ofSynechococcus elongatesPCC 7942. The gene expression regulation system of theS. elongatesPCC 7942 includes aS. elongatesPCC 7942 cell, a gene expression interference unit and a gene editing unit. The invention also relates to a method for regulating a gene expression of theS. elongatesPCC 7942. The method includes providing theS. elongatesPCC 7942 cell, using the gene editing unit to insert an exogenous gene into theS. elongatesPCC 7942 cell, and using the gene expression interference unit to inhibit a gene expression of a target gene. Therefore, it is favorable for comprehensively manipulating the metabolic pathway of theS. elongatesPCC 7942 and favorable for optimizing the yield of a target product.
