Abstract
The present disclosure provides a sustained-release composition including sodium hydrosulfide and a carrier. The carrier is provided for carrying the sodium hydrosulfide with an effective amount and includes a first component and a second component. The first component includes a paraffin wax, and the second component includes a fatty alcohol, a fatty acid or a phospholipid. Thereby, the present disclosure can form a barrier to protect the sodium hydrosulfide from a rapid dissociation after encountering water. Hydrogen sulfide is then released slowly and continuously for providing a long-term therapeutic effect, and the frequency of providing the sodium hydrosulfide can be reduced.
