Abstract
The present invention proposes a self-biased microwave low-noise amplifier that includes an inverter having an input terminal and an output terminal for receiving input signal and providing output signal, respectively; an inductor connected between the input terminal and output terminal; and a capacitor connected in parallel with the inductor. In the invention, the transferring characteristic curve of the inverter is used for the amplification of the input signal. In addition, an inductor is connected to the output terminal and the input terminal of the inverter so as to make the inverter have a stable DC bias voltage. By adjusting the inductance value and the quality factor of the inductor, the amplifier thus operates with the expected frequency and the frequency bandwidth.
