Abstract
The present invention relates to a drug release system comprising a drug molecule and a quaternary ammonium functionalized mesoporous silica nanoparticle (MSN) wherein said drug molecule is loaded and retain in the MSN at a lower pH and released at a higher pH. The drug release system of the invention is pH responsive and thus organ-specific.
