Abstract
A method for groove milling of tire mold is provided. First, build up database of plural cutting tools and plural groove milling areas. Then, calculate the operation time of each cutting tool on each groove milling area according to geometric data of the cutting tools and areas and sum up each operation time as the manufacturing cost. Select the path with minimum manufacturing cost as the process paths of plural cutting tools when groove mill a tire mold. The operation time calculation excludes the groove milling having geometric limits. Besides, the manufacturing cost can further include the moving time of same cutting tool at different groove milling areas and the time of changing cutting tool. Therefore, the collocation of cutting tool and area can be optimized to greatly enhance the efficiency of tire mold manufacturing.
