Abstract

Conventional hard alloys are often constituted by a hard material of carbide and a soft material of binding metal. Cobalt (Co), one kind of binding metals, would lead to the reducing of the hardness and wear resistance of tungsten carbide (WC). Differing from the conventional hard alloy often being made of Co and WC, the present invention particularly form an alloy material by using at least four different metallic elements, and then further fabricates a novel hard alloy constituted by the alloy material and a carbide. It is worth introducing that, a variety of experimental data have proved that this hard alloy through traditional vacuum sintering process or additive manufacturing process like selective laser sintering (SLS). Moreover, this novel hard alloy exhibits high hardness of above HV1100.
