Abstract
PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device having wide viewing angle characteristics is provided to allow the liquid crystal display device to be powered on a low voltage and small amounts of electric power and to have high picture quality. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal layer(LC) in which liquid crystals can be twisted is provided. Substrates(SUB1,SUB2) of which one is transparent interpose the liquid crystal layer(LC) therebetween. A pixel electrode(PX) and a counter electrode(CT) of at least one pair are arranged in each pixel between the surface of the first substrate(SUB1) and the surface of the liquid crystal layer(LC). The optical transmissivity of the liquid crystals of the liquid crystal layer is controlled by an electric field including a component parallel to the first substrate(SUB1) generated between the pixel electrode(PX) and the counter electrode(CT). The counter electrode of each pixel is applied through a counter voltage signal. A common bus line(CB) commonly connects counter voltage signal lines. Each counter voltage signal line is drawn to a counter electrode terminal through the common bus line(CB). The common bus line(CB) has a multi-layered structure.
